My word what a shock to find this. Fond memories of David who welcomed me from the UK when I joined Datacom in the late 90s. My memories of New Zealand would not be complete without those of David guiding and easing me into a life changing journey of adventure. The most calm and chilled out person I've ever known. Rest in peace mate.

We worked together, I loved his advice on how to resolve either the issue in Life or Technical faults for work. He was the best guy ever. I am going to miss you RIP buddy.

I worked with David at Fay, Richwhite, and have so many fond memories of him. He was just so good at what he did, so smart and quirky, such fun to be around, and such a fine person. He baby sat my young son a few times, and all of a sudden the young son is 33, about to get married, and still remembers "Grimmers" fondly. We chatted on and off over the years, but I wish we'd had the chance to catch up in person. RIP Grimmers

We worked together several times but my enduring memories of David are the sharp and special intellect, the dry and quirky sense of humour and the individuality. In recent times we would catch up and just chat, happy moments but tinged with sadness.

David I remember so many good times in our Kapiti College days that you. The way you were in the world was magic…. your reflective laconic style made chats about David Bowie vs Rolling Stones or Physics vs Chemistry fun. Go well David you and your tribe are in my thoughts

You are my OG mentor Grimmers, you taught me so much as young green engineer and getting me out of sticky situations when the needed. Will see you looking after that Exchange server in the Clouds. The Ramones man! Out.

Thank you mate for mentoring me early in my career - I don't even know if you realised you were. You made a big difference in my life which I hadn't really appreciated until I reflect now. You were always calm and kind - even when spilling coffee all over the front seat of my car. It was a great time in the glory days of Datacom professional services. Rest well mate.

David. I will never forget how welcome you made me feel when I first arrived in NZ. A home away from home, with some cherished memories for life. Some of life's simple pleasures were had during my stay – walking with Biddy around the Karori hills, Webba nights, the Paekak. walk where you scrambled across the narrow bank looking extremely unstable – I've never seen a man's knees shake so much ha. Similarly, the fun I had driving your Falcon along the Kapiti coast (whether Jo told you about that or not). I thank you for that experience.

I always enjoyed your dry wit at the family gatherings, and the inevitable Pro-Trump hat worn. Good laughs were had.

Thank you, David.
Rest in peace and thank you for being part of my NZ chapter. A chapter I will never forget.

Adam

I'm sad that we didn't see each other anymore. Even though I'm far away, I thought of Dave. My condolences to the whole family.

David/Grandy would always draw his finger guns and say "wicked"
